Old English Translator provides automated translation between Old English (Anglo-Saxon) and Modern English. Translations are generated by a combination of a curated dictionary database and artificial intelligence (AI). The service is provided "as is" without any warranty of accuracy or completeness.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for automated scraping, bulk translation, or any activity that exceeds the rate limits.
  • Bypass or circumvent Turnstile human verification.
  • Submit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying AI models or dictionary data.

3. Limitation of Liability

Translations may contain errors. Old English is a language with significant scholarly disagreement about the interpretation of many passages. You should verify important translations against scholarly sources, especially for academic or professional use. The service is not a substitute for human expertise in Old English philology.

4. Intellectual Property

The dictionary data, prompt templates, and software code are proprietary. The classic texts displayed on the site are in the public domain. Translations you generate are provided for your use; we claim no ownership of translated output.

5. Changes

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
