Her Æþelstan cyning, eorla dryhten, beorna beahgifa, and his broþor eac, Eadmund æþeling, ealdorlangne tir geslogon æt sæcce sweorda ecgum ymbe Brunanburh.

Modern English Translation

In this year King Æthelstan, lord of earls, ring-giver of men, and his brother also, Prince Edmund, won lifelong glory in battle with the edges of swords around Brunanburh.
